If you feel stuck because of overwhelming emotions, anxiety, and unhelpful habits, then therapy will help. Life is too short to be held back by relationships that no longer serve us, anxious thinking that preoccupies us day after day, and trauma that continues to impact our daily lives. Therapy allows you to focus on growth and healing that will lend to a more joyful and fulfilling life.

If past traumas continue to impact you and traditional therapy hasn't helped, more targeted approaches such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) can help to transform the worst of experiences into sources of strength.

If each partner is struggling to figure out what they want in the relationship and how they can best show up for each other, couples counseling can help clarify needs, boundaries, and communication styles.

A Little About Me

Hi there! My name is Alex and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in San Diego, California. I primarily work with adults, and specialize in treating depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and working with the LGBTQIA+ community. As a queer-identifying person myself, I understand the importance of working with someone who reflects your identity and provides a safe space to heal.

I am trained in several therapeutic approaches that can help you attain new insights about your feelings, behaviors, relationships, and priorities. Investing the time to take a close look at your relationships, life experiences, and habitual tendencies will allow you to get to the core of who you are and what your relationships are all about. Getting a better understanding of how you move through the world and what’s most important to you can remove barriers that are stopping you from living the life you want.

My style of therapy is calming, conscientious, and deliberate. My hope is to provide an experience that allows you to feel like you can openly explore your difficult life experiences in a safe, nonjudgmental environment, and to grow in a way that is aligned with your unique goals and values.
